Model role for Giants

FROM brawn to beauty. That was the name of the game for two young Huddersfield Giants rugby league players as the House of Fraser store in the Kingsgate Centre began its countdown to Christmas.

Super League players Danny Kirmond and Shaun Lunt were on hand to lend their support to a special night of promotion, as well as helping raise cash for the West Yorkshire Forget-Me-Not Trust in the process.

And with 200 invited guests attending the event at the former Beatties store and over £300 raised for the trust the evening was hailed a great success, with Danny and Shaun the stars of the show.

“The way these two handled the occasion was fantastic,” said store manager Graham Woodward.

“Being cast in the role of models for the night is something that won’t have come naturally to them, but they handled it superbly.

“To be honest, they exceeded all our expectations.

“As soon as they arrived they seemed up for it. They were really amenable and did everything that was asked of them.

“It’s the first time we’ve ever done anything like this with the Giants, but it’s something we’ll definitely do again. I think it could be the start of a fantastic relationship.”
