Future’s bright in orange - and other colours!

AFTER a winter of berry-shade lipsticks and smokey eyes, we’re all ready for the lighter, brighter make-up shades of spring.

The new look for the New Year is captured perfectly by Yves Saint Laurent, with its seasonal collection of yellow and pink, orange and fuchsia, green and violet, ochre and blue.

Team violets and greens on the eyes with apricot lip colour using the brand’s beautiful Palette D’Artiste (£33) and Gloss Pur Melon/Pure Coral (£20).

It’s pretty, it’s feminine but it needs careful application. Too much colour will look clown-like rather than fashionably floral and fragile.
