The pictures of all our finalists were taken after a mini make-over by Max Factor consultant Jo Burke in Boots.
Our runners-up in the competition were:
Michelle I’Anson of Milnsbridge, who met her husband-to-be when studying at Newcastle University. Both she and her fiance Richard Henderson had part-time jobs at the Boots store in the city. When Michelle returned to her home town of Huddersfield, Richard left his native North East to be with her.
Yvette Gilbert-Barrow of Kirkheaton, a learning disabilities nurse, who says her intended, Richard Brook is her ‘’rock.’’ They took the decision to get married on the third anniversary of their first meeting. “I have found a man with the same sense of humour as me, who is kind and loving,’’ she said
Donna Wilkinson of Slaithwaite, who met her fiance Mathew Dyson when she was just 15 and he was 17. They’ve been together for 12 years, have two children, and say the time is now right for them to marry! “My mum and dad met when they were very young,’’ said Donna, “and they renewed their vows after 25 years.’’
Sarah Powis of New Mill has been with her fiance Daniel Smith for seven years and will be getting married in November. The couple first met when Sarah was 15 and they were both working in an hotel. Sarah is now a researcher for Kirklees and Daniel is an environmental project manager.
