Family: Win a great day out at the Great Yorkshire Show
Jun 4 2009 by Our Correspondent, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
THE Great Yorkshire Show is one of the summer’s highlights.
And you could be there this year with your family thanks to today’s competition. We’ve got five family tickets - worth up to £55 each - to give away for this year’s show, the 151st, which opens on Tuesday, July 14, and closes on Thursday, July 16.
Organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, the annual event attracts more than 125,000 visitors over its three days and takes place at the permanent 250-acre showground outside Harrogate.
Our winners will be able to visit everything from the purpose-built food hall, where there are cookery demonstrations; to the Flower Show, Art Show, Cheese and Dairy Show, Skipton Building Society Fashion Pavilion, with live fashion shows, and the hundreds of stands.
Visitors will be entertained by the Yorkshire Volunteers Military Band and the North Stars Steel Band and meet the winners of the Model Young Farmer competition.
There’s literally something for everyone - from Wellington boots and designer clothes to whirlpool baths and gardening equipment.
Parking on the site is free and tickets, if booked online in advance, cost £18 for an adult, £8 for children, £16 for concessions and £47 for a family ticket. Visit www.greatyorkshireshow.co.uk
To enter our competition simply put the answers to the following questions on the back of a postcard, along with your name and address.
