Fashion and Beauty: Colour types
Nov 26 2009 by Linzi Nicholson, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
Colour types fall into six dominant categories – Soft (Kylie Minogue and Kate Moss); Warm (Nicole Kidman); Cool (Judi Dench); Clear (Courtney Cox); Deep (Catherine Zeta Jones and anyone with dark skin and dark eyes); Light (Claudia Schiffer).
Everyone can wear black, although only those who fall into the ‘Deep’ and ‘Clear’ groups can wear it next to their faces. Everyone else should avoid high-necked black tops or break up the outline with a scarf or jewellery.
Purple is a universal colour that can be worn by anyone – that includes purple eyeshadow.
Choose foundation in natural daylight whenever possible and match the colour to your neckline to avoid tide marks.
There is a shade of red to suit everyone. Those with warm undertones should stick to yellow reds while those with cool undertones need a blue red.
No colour is forbidden no matter which colour group we belong to – but getting the shade right is vital to looking good.
