Discovery Bay head chef Lashaun Pryce gives Kirklees College students a taste of the Caribbean
CHEF Lashaun Pryce visited his former college to give students a flavour of Caribbean cuisine.
Lashaun, from Dalton, is head chef at Huddersfield’s award-winning Discovery Bay Caribbean restaurant.
And the 22-year-old cooked up a storm with a demonstration for the college’s hospitality students.
Lashaun gave the students some tips and tricks and helped them prepare some of Discovery Bay’s signature dishes – including curried goat, jerk chicken and pineapple crumble.
He said: “Going to college turned my life around so I thought it would be nice to give something back.
“I could have followed the wrong crowds, mixed with the wrong people.
“But instead I kept a low profile, kept my head down and studied hard.”
Lashaun is originally from Jamaica and moved to Huddersfield in 2002.
