    1 Lily beetle warning – look out for this long red beetle that can, in its adult and larval forms, cause absolute devastation to lilies, fritillaria and cardiocrinums. Look out for the tiny black and white figwort weevil that attacks the new flowering shoots of phygelius at this time of year and the green and purple striped rosemary beetle that attacks rosemary and lavender. The simplest method of control for all of these pests is to hand pick them from the plants and dispose of them. Read
