` RHS Tatton Flower Show – the biggest annual flower show this side of Birmingham is not to be missed.
Running from July 22 to 26, the show has something for everyone. The National Flower Bed Competition is one of the highlights with beds designed and planted by local authorities and colleges.
The plant societies’ marquee holds scores of national and regional societies, allowing you to join them in their quests.
The RHS Young Designer of the Year competition is a new one for 2009 and will show off the talents of our younger garden designers.
Call 0844 209 1810 or visit the web site at www.rhs.org.uk for more details.
` Carol Puszkiewicz, of Prospect Place, the winner of the Huddersfield Daily Examiner Garden of the Year competition in 2007, is opening her garden in Outlane once again for the National Gardens Scheme. Her fabulous one-acre garden has a bit of everything. It opens on Sunday, July 12 from noon to 5 pm. Visit www.ngs.org.uk for more details of this garden and all the other fabulous gardens across the country.
If you are opening your garden to the public for charity, why not write to me at the usual address, giving plenty of notice or email the details to Val Javin at val.javin@examiner.co.uk and she will forward them on to me.
