1 Vegetables – are you ready for onion sowing after Christmas? To get yourself ahead, sow your onions in late December in a cool, frost-free glasshouse and they can be planted out in March to get an extra long growing season. You might also consider sowing some summer cauliflower in the same situation for planting out in March. Sow early varieties of carrots in soil beds or large containers in a cool glasshouse over the next few weeks for a harvest of small but sweet carrots in late April and early May. Read
