` Winter walks 1 – the Woodland Trust has recently highlighted the fact that, within a 10 mile radius of Huddersfield, there are over 100 pieces of woodland for us to see and enjoy and nationwide there are over 14,000 that are in public or private ownership with public access.
So, if you are looking for a family activity over the Christmas holiday, why not check out the website at www.woodlandtrust.org.uk and follow the link to Visit Woods. It’s easy, just put in your postcode and the site will display all the local woods with grid references to help you find them. Take a note book, binoculars, a camera, warm clothing and a warm drink and enjoy some of the wonders of our local woodlands.
` Winter walks 2 – RHS Gardens Harlow Carr near Harrogate has a guided winter walk today, starting at 11am, tomorrow and on December 18 and 19.
Winter surprises in the gardens of Harlow Carr, ending with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie at Betty’s, all for £7.95 per person. Call 0845 612 1253 to book your place.
