PRIMARY school children are being invited to take part in the annual Children’s Charity Calendar Painting Competition run by law firm Walker Morris.
Youngsters aged five to 11 compete by painting a picture of their favourite month of the year. Winning entries are used to produce a calendar, which is sold in aid of Yorkshire’s Martin House Children’s Hospice.
The 13 winners of the competition, judged by internationally-renowned Holmfirth artist Ashley Jackson, each receive a treasure chest of artists’ materials along with a cheque for £250 for their schools. There are also runners-up awards.
Last year children from Wooldale Junior School in the Holme Valley won four of the monthly categories.
Entry forms for the competition are available from the marketing department at Walker Morris, Kings Court, 12 King Street, Leeds LS1 2HL or by telephoning 01132 832500.
