Grieve
Grieve - Drive
HOLMFIRTH metal band Grieve have just released their new EP Drive. The four-piece started life as Icarus back in 2004, but over the years their music became heavier and in 2007, they decided on a name and image change and reinvented themselves as Grieve. If you like straight-forward raw heavy metal with plenty of attitude, then you can purchase the EP for £3 at Grieve gigs. Huddersfield band The Scaramanga Six have been described as ‘grandiose goth pop’ and ‘rock noir’ but no phrase can really capture their bizarre mix of rock, cabaret and operetta with a sinister and theatrical twist. The Savages - Huddersfield Blues
The Savages have been performing their 'shock and roll' in Huddersfield and beyond since 1991. The songs of The Damned, Little Richard, Screaming Lord Sutch and Jerry Lee Lewis are just some of those that have been given the Savages' treatment over the years. They are back in Huddersfield for just a few hometown gigs - at Paddock Cricket Club on Friday (April 25) and at The Royal Oak in Paddock. JAMES Keen is a Huddersfield singer and songwriter who deals in what he calls 'indie folk'. The former Huddersfield University student has supported bands including Reverend and The Makers and is just about to release a new EP in May. Nex - Dansylvania
HUDDERSFIELD band Nex are back with a new album - A Clockwork Heart. The five-strong group will launch the album tonight (April 7) at The Parish. The new album retains the harmonies and melodic metal that Nex fans know and love, but it also has elements of progressive rock, punk and even Japanese classical piano. THE Bitchfits are four fearsome ladies from Los Angeles who deal in passionate punk. They started in 2003 as a tribute to punk act The Misfits but have evolved into an entity all their own. They are starting a 22-date European tour at The Parish in Huddersfield on April 10 and say they are big fans of the Huddersfield scene after checking out Fresh Music. I Concur are an indie four-piece from Leeds, featuring former Huddersfield University student Chris Woolford on guitar. They formed in 2006 and their style is heavily influenced by Americana and bands like My Bloody Valentine. Kava Kava are a Huddersfield band whose funk rock sound has won them fans both at home and overseas. During their considerable history, they've wowed crowds at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas and the Beijing Midi Festival in China. Their music has found favour Stateside and they've had tracks featured on US TV shows including Weeds and the new series of sitcom Dirt, starring Courtney Cox. Read

Asaviour comes from Fartown, but his quest for success has taken him to Manchester and London, where he now lives. The 29-year-old is still in touch with his roots but says when he started out, it was necessary to be in London to get a break. Read
Supadark
Bleep Test
Supadark – aka Lee St Hilaire – had an enviable reputation in underground circles for years. MC and producer Lee, 28, from Bradley, discovered his passion for music as a young teenager and formed the drum ‘n’ bass outfit Hit Man Crew. He appeared on local pirate radio stations and was put in charge of 1Xtra presenter L Double’s studio. In 2002, he formed the group North Vibez and they signed to the EMAP label, releasing their first single Easy. Read
