THE Orchestra – ELO and ELO Part II are heading to Halifax.
The group, featuring original members of both ELO and later incarnation ELO Part II, will appear at the Victoria Theatre on May 12 as part of a short UK tour.
Following the sudden death of original ELO member Kelly Groucutt recently, The Orchestra had to decide whether to continue with the tour.
They decided to head out on the road as a tribute to their former bandmate.
The show incorporates hits from the band which was one of the most successful groups of the 1970s and 1980s – spending 255 weeks on the singles chart and 393 weeks on the album charts, selling 100 million records worldwide.
Their numerous hits included Livin’ Thing, Mr Blue Sky, Sweet Talkin’ Woman, Last Train To London, Evil Woman, Telephone Line, Strange Magic, Don’t Bring Me Down and Xanadu, with Olivia Newton John.
