Get glam and girlie!

EVERY girl loves to dress up and party, whether it’s an extravagant do, a boozy bash or a spontaneous night on the town.

But getting dolled up has its drawbacks – maintaining the carefully constructed perfect party look through the night is a challenge most women have faced.

Sarah Michelle Timms gives us her tip on how to do your night out in style...

MEN might just have a shower and stick on a clean shirt when it comes to a night out, but for girls, the ‘getting ready’ stages are all part of the fun.

The night starts when you and your party accomplices all gather at one house, put on your favourite album of all time, crack open the bubbly and the true dolling up begins.

Make-up bags burst open at the seams, spilling tubes of smoky eye-liner, luscious lash mascara, blushers, enough foundations to paint a statue and make-up brushes in every possible size.

These face paint accessories are accompanied with numerous hair straighteners, hairspray, stilettos galore and what seems like the entire clothing range of Topshop, River Island and Miss Selfridge combined.

All these clothes are necessary, because a girl has to have options. Once the fake lashes are on and the lippy’s been applied, the time to pick the perfect outfit commences.

With the help of your girlfriends, you select your classic little black dress, or your hottest high-street number, perhaps even your favourite vintage treasure.

Then the next stage in outfit preparation begins – accessories. It’s time to positively bling up your ensemble at a pace that P.Diddy would be scared of – necklaces, rings, leggings, tights, belts, bangles – you name it we have it!

Finally, after quality time spent on clasping those glossy locks through heated irons, it’s time to select a wonderfully matching bag and a killer pair of heels.

And men wonder why it takes so long for us to get ready? Looking good is hard work you know!

Once the dressing up is over, it’s time to let the night of fun, scandal, alcohol and frolics commence.

There’s no need to talk you through the rest of the night – it’s quite self-explanatory and usually involves drinking far too much, dancing like you’re Beyoncé, flirting frivolously followed by a chicken chow mein and a taxi home.
