Describe what you do? I do modern art and use mixed media – mainly oils. I have a studio on Northumberland Street and have recently exhibited my work at Sleepers bar on Viaduct Street and The Art Shop, at Hebden Bridge. I also teach music, drums, bass and guitar and play in bands.
How did you get into it? I started art while on holiday in San Francisco in 1996, as a way of trying to relax.
What inspires you in your work? I am inspired by music and my main influences are Hendrix, Indian-Jazz fusion music and Picasso. I am also inspired by passionate people who are motivated, such as Martin Luther King or Ghandi.
What’s the best thing about what you do? Getting to be creative and explore colour, which is my strongest passion.
What do you like best about being based around here? Huddersfield is an easy going place and is friendly and creative. There’s lots of musicians and artists based here.
What’s your ultimate aim? My aim is to keep touching people through my art and music.
