Pub regular’s plea

AS a regular for many years at The Beaumont Arms in Kirkheaton I must contribute my opinion to the recent debate concerning alleged underage drinking at the premises.

In my opinion, Mr Murphy (the licensee) runs the premises with more than due diligence and responsibility. He does not take his responsibilities lightly at all but is correctly proud of the job he does and protective his staff.

I think we all would agree that the police have a very difficult job. However, it is my belief that on this occasion their “intel” must have been erroneous. Anti social behaviour at the Beaumont Arms just would not be tolerated either by Mr Murphy and his staff or any of the regular customers.

To my knowledge, nor has there been any complaints from the “neighbours” in the nearby graveyard.

I do now hope, that in the interests of moderation, the matter will be soon concluded.
