Famous five in our latest literary feast

This year’s Examiner Literary Luncheon, on Tuesday, October 7, promises to be a sumptuous feast with five speakers, including Huddersfield’s own internationally-recognised poet and author Simon Armitage.

Tickets are now on sale for the Galpharm Stadium event.

Joining Simon on our top table will be Stephanie Calman, whose Confessions of a Bad Mother reached the bestsellers lists; Jane (Costello) Wolstenholme, a bright new name in chick lit; David Joy, co-author of a book about the early 20th century furniture craftsman Robert Thompson, known as the Mouseman of Kilburn; and Bill Mitchell, biographer of Hannah Hauxwell, the Dales farmer who became famous after being featured in a television documentary.

There’s a strong local flavour, with three of our speakers having a Yorkshire connection.

Tickets are £25 each and are available from customer reception at the Examiner office on Queen Street South or by calling 01484 430000 and asking for customer reception.

The luncheon starts at noon and is sponsored by florists Yorkshire Rose.
