DAVID JOY is co-author (with Patricia Lennon) of a newly-published picture biography of furniture maker Robert Thompson, who became known as the Mouseman of Kilburn because his work was ‘signed’ with a carved mouse.
Early Mouseman furniture from the last century is now greatly sought-after and fetches high prices.
Mouseman - The Legacy of Robert Thompson of Kilburn is not only the story of the craftsman.
It also contains previously unseen photos and drawings from the Thompson family archive and includes details of scenic trails around Yorkshire and Cumbria that take in churches, cathedrals and public buildings where Mouseman furniture can be seen.
David is a former editor of the Dalesman magazine and has written extensively about Yorkshire in more than 200 publications.
