A SURPRISING number of women have never had a professional facial or make-up consultation.
Now is the chance to have both at a special event in Boots on Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9.
For £5 – redeemable against products – customers will be able to experience a skincare consultation and mini-facial with Olay consultant Katie Walker, followed by a full summer make-up with award-winning Max Factor consultant Jo Burke.
Book on counter.
GIVE your skin a protective coating of SPF 10 simply by washing with a special soap bar. Bethesda, which makes natural products, has come up with this novel idea for those too lazy to do the sunscreen thing.
The Body Bar is rich in titanium dioxide, a physical sun-blocker, and will leave a light coating all over the face and body.
It also contains vitamins, olive oil, soothing aloe vera, lavender oil, rosemary leaf oil and something called Balm of Gilean, which sounds good.
A bar costs £8 and the makers say it provides a waterproof SPF coating. However, in very hot weather additional sun protection is recommended.
As they point out, most of us leave for school or work in the morning with no sun protection at all, so pop a bar into the shower cubicle. Available from www.bethesdaskincare.co.uk
MASCARAS often promise a lot and deliver the same gunky mess. Collection 2000 has a new volume Sensation Mascara that is gunk-free, thanks to a lightweight formulation, and lifts and separates lashes.
It’s also prettily pink and only £4.99 from just about everywhere.
