WHAT sort of town should the Huddersfield of the future be?
Should we have more shops and offices? And, if so, how many?
Do we need to put more stress on our cultural life? Would a museum in the town centre be a good thing?
Will climate change and high energy prices make a difference to our thinking?
Questions, questions. And ones which we are now talking about in a debate started by Huddersfield Civic Society.
Prof Cedric Cullingford, the society’s chairman, chaired the first meeting in the debate and is keen that we continue to talk about our vision for Huddersfield.
The society’s next open meeting on the future of Huddersfield will be on September 25 in the university’s Castle Hill Suite, starting at 7.30pm. The panel will include Barry Sheerman MP and Examiner editor Roy Wright.
