Singer and soccer fan Craig fills us in
Sep 13 2008 by Val Javin, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
CRAIG DAVID, 27, was born in Southampton. He has made a name for himself as a multi-million-selling singer, thanks to hits such as Fill Me In and Seven Days.
A life-long football fan, he was among the England side in the charity match Soccer Aid, which took place last weekend.
He is single and divides his time between London and Miami.
If you had to be stuck in a lift with someone, who would it be? Probably Megan Fox as she’s really hot right now. I also think she’d be an interesting person.
What is your biggest fear? Probably being stuck in a lift for far too long, but with Megan Fox it wouldn’t be too bad. On a serious note, I’d say probably not achieving my goals. Dying before had a chance to fulfil them.
Do you have any superstitions? I always have to run the shower cold after a normal hot shower. I don’t know why, it started when I was training a few years ago and now I can’t just get out, I feel weird. It’s good for the skin though - like jumping into a plunge pool. It can be quite exhilarating but not just before bed.
If you could only have one song on your iPod, what would it be? Michael Jackson’s Human Nature. That sentiment is one of his classics and I remember it as one of my favourites growing up.
What’s the most expensive item you’ve ever bought, not including property or cars? There was a Cartier watch I saw while travelling. It has a diamond bezel and I just thought ‘if I’m going to have one watch, one that’s extravagant and out there, it’s that’. I’m wearing it now, it’s beautiful.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? Simply fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
When was the last time you cried and why? It was at football a couple of weeks ago. I went in for a tackle and sort of went over on my ankle, but as I tried to get up, this guy blasted a football straight where he shouldn’t have. It was like a comedy sketch. There was no trying to be too hard there, I had to just let it go.
What’s your indulgence? Trainers and chocolate.
How environmentally friendly are you? I’m okay. I am privileged enough to have a housekeeper, who sorts out which bottle goes where. Maybe I’m not as eco-friendly as I should be, and I don’t have an electric car instead of a 4x4, but let’s be honest - life’s too short.
Who is the most famous person whose number you have in your mobile? Al Pacino. He’s a cool one. I met him a while back when I was out in the States. We got on really well and he gave me his number.
How many texts do you send in a day? Between 30 and 40.
What item could you not live without?: My BlackBerry. I didn’t want to get one at first because I couldn’t get away from email, but now I have got one, I can’t imagine life without it.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I’d be a little more patient. I think I’d see things a bit clearer and not make any rash decisions.
Where are you going on holiday? Later on this year I’m going out to Miami. I recently bought an apartment out there.
