That Natural touch

WHILE the HOST open studio trail was in progress last weekend I took the opportunity to visit Robert Norbury and Jean Bashford, partners in New Natural Photography in Coniston Road, Meltham.

They have been in business together for two years now, but Robert was a professional photographer two years before that.

As well as producing a splendid and different line in wedding photography he had some fine, moody shots on view, such as the dark one of Helme Church, Emley Moor from Meltham Moor and Royd from Royd Edge.

A lighter touch comes with a door decorated with fish at a herring fisher’s house at Nefyn, Wales, and Legs, Leeds, decorated in fashion gear.

Jean is both a photographer and a painter, and impresses with her oil pastel Nude With Tray and a variety of other paintings.

The pair will be running an exhibition at Marsden Jazz Festival in Month of Sundaes Ice Cream Parlour Gallery, Peel Street, from Monday.

During the festival (Oct 10-12) they will be doing free black and white fine art portraiture sessions at Month of Sundaes, with live music.
