3) HUDDERSFIELD Town chairman Dean Hoyle has refused to rule out a sale of his greeting cards business.

Shareholders at Card Factory have called in business advisers KPMG to carry out a strategic review of the company, leading to speculation he could be about to sell up.

But Hoyle told the Examiner: “There’s not a lot to say.”

4) A DEVASTATING fire which destroyed a school gym may be linked to a ‘postcode gang’ war.

The blaze that ripped through the building at Salendine Nook High School off New Hey Road caused damage totalling £30,000.

An empty petrol can was found nearby and the incident is being treated as arson.

5) AN ELDERLY man who fell on a Slaithwaite pavement had to wait almost 90 minutes for an ambulance.

Passersby rushed to help the 83-year-old man who fell after tripping on a loose paving slab at the junction of Carr Lane and Britannia Road.
