Jayne Priest
LIVES: Cawthorne – just over the hill from Scissett.
OCCUPATION: Office Manager at Jayray Vehicle Solutions, a local independently run garage based in Scissett.
STATUS: Married – happily for the past 20 years.
CHILDREN: Two, a girl and a boy aged 14 and 12.
HOBBIES: Socialising with friends, karting, cooking and keeping fit (latest one is a New Year’s Resolution, so may not last beyond January!)
What was the last movie you watched at the cinema? Bridget Jones – the first one! Clearly not a keen movie watcher!
Which TV programme is you all-time favourite? Come Dine with Me – I have a nosey interest in other people!
What makes you laugh? My husband!
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Caribbean for the fantastic people and wonderful weather.
On a personal note, what is your best quality? Sincerity and generosity.
and sorry, we have to ask, what is your worst fault or bad habit? Needing to be in control at all times!
What is your favourite local shop? Londis on Wakefield Road; it stocks everything.
Name your ideal way to spend an evening out? Eating and drinking with friends and family.
What is the last book you read? Patrick Swayze: The Time of My Life. I’m an avid reader and normally have at least two books on the go! Anything from biographies to novels keeps me happy.
What is the last luxury item you bought for yourself? Two tickets to Monaco for my husband’s 40th – I assumed he would want to take me along – luckily he did!
Looking back in history, who is the man or woman you most admire? My dad. He made choices in life to follow his dreams and ensure his family are as happy as he can make them. I hope I can inspire my children in the same way.
Name a favourite piece of music. Dr Hook – One True Friend (soppy but so good!)
What is the most important thing in your life today? Health and happiness of my family.
Have you ever had a pet and if so, what did you name it and why? We have a little Westie, called Monty. He really belongs to our daughter so she had the privilege of choosing the name.
If you could go and watch any sports team, who would it be? F1 race in Monaco. I love both racing and Monaco, so what a combination!
What concerns you most about modern life and today’s society? There seems to be a general lack of care and thought for others. Both at work and at home I hope that everyone I interact with feels I’ve treated them with respect.
Who would you like to be stuck in a traffic jam with? Having spent seven hours stuck on the M5 in August with my family, I’m going to have to say them. No food, drink and toilet facilities for that length of time is just not good!
