Web forum: Theo to go?!

WITH the football transfer window open rumours abound, and it’s no different on the Town Forum at The Examiner.

sheriff informed us: “Big vibes coming from Millwall (message boards) that Theo Robinson is joining them next week. Great start for the Terriers but his attitude is questionable and recent form poor. Who do you want to replace him?”

denbyfan hadn’t been impressed anyway: “I’ve been saying for a while that he just hasn’t been happening for a while, but he has been made out as some kind of hero.

“It’s about time he went as his appearances have been embarrassing for ages. Fluffing easy chances and being too greedy. Plus getting rid of his wages and recoup of his transfer fee if only some of it would go a long way to pushing us forward.”

fatlad asked: “How much did we pay for him? I can’t recall, but if we can recoup the fee we paid, then yes.

“Maybe he hasn’t settled in the area, he is fast, but too lightweight, and today burst through on goal only to once again pass the ball nicely back to their keeper. He flatters to deceive, relying too much on raw pace. If he goes, I would rather we not sell to one of our rivals.”

sheriff agreed. “Same for me fatlad: someone who has been there and DONE IT!

Phillips would be a great signing and he’s got a good two years left on him as his game time over the past two years has been very low.”

mirfielder enlightened us: “Although the fee was never made public when he signed his three year contract, a fellow supporter with good inside information told me we paid £275,000 for him and that Millwall are looking to sign him for £200,000.”

jacko1950 felt different about the striker: “Not sure about this. He is in course for about 18 goals this season, and is good to bring on when Rhodes and Novak need resting. He has never had a regular run in the team so he will be lacking confidence.

“I would have thought his best bet was playing matches away from home, where there would be more space for him to operate and use his speed.

“While Town have a fantastic home record, our away record is going to cost us unless we improve.”
