CHILDREN: Two lovely sons.

HOBBIES: Anything creative such as sewing, cake decorating, cooking. I also enjoy walking and pottering in the garden.

What was the last movie you watched at the cinema? Christmas Carol in 3D.

Which TV programme is your all-time favourite? Master Chef.

What makes you laugh? The funny side of everyday people and situations which is why I loved Victoria Wood in Dinnerladies.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Iceland. It looks amazing and I don’t cope very well in hot climates.

On a personal note, what is your best quality? Mild insanity.

What is your favourite local shop? Any bookshop where I’m allowed to browse plus any of The West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust charity shops.

Name your ideal way to spend an evening out. A good meal out with friends in a restaurant where the background music doesn’t drown out conversation.

How do you normally spend Christmas and New Year? With family.

What is the last book you read? Helen Mirren’s autobiography.

What is the last luxury item you bought for yourself? Chocolate.

Looking back in history, who is the man or woman you most admire? Jane Tomlinson, an inspirational lady.

Name a favourite piece of music. The Planet Suite.

What is the most important thing in your life today? Being healthy enough to enjoy everything that life has to offer.

Have you ever had a pet and if so, what did you name it and why? We have a cat called Humbug. She came by her name when, as a kitten, a friend described her as small and sweet and stripy.

If you could go and watch any sports team, who would it be? Not strictly a team but the men’s singles final at Wimbledon would be my ideal sporting occasion.

What concerns you most about modern life and today's society? That some people show a lack of respect for others.

What is your overall opinion of Huddersfield as a place to live? Ask me again in a few weeks time. I’m looking forward to moving here.

Who would you like to be stuck in a traffic jam with? Anyone with access to a blue flashing light who could get me out!
