Occupation: Dementia Adviser for The Alzheimer’s Society for South Kirklees.

Children:One gorgeous daughter, aged 11.

Hobbies: Bathroom singing, gardening, cooking, shopping (bags, clothes and shoes), netsurfing, voluntary work, driving, sightseeing, country walk, making friends from different cultures, making my daughter laugh and learning new, exciting things.

What was the last movie you watched at the cinema? Sukhmani – Hope for Life (a Bollywood movie).

Which TV programme is your all-time favourite? Discovery, documentaries, wildlife, Friends, comedies, Loose Women, The Wright Stuff.

What makes you laugh?Simple and healthy humour, comedies, young children’s embarrassing questions, practical jokes, sometimes myself in embarrassment and jokes.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Many countries, if possible in particular I would like to visit Japan to learn about their culture and management, Africa for safaris or any poor country for charity work.

On a personal note, what is your best quality? Kind, sincere, strong, laugh easily and facing life situations like a soldier.

... and sorry, we have to ask, what is your worst fault or bad habit? Gullible and sometimes can’t control my laughter.

Name your ideal way to spend an evening out. Eating out with all varieties of food, Bollywood music, bowling, cinema, friends, driving and listening to Bollywood music with my daughter, family laughter.

What is the last book you read? The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and Jo Brand, Look back in Hunger.

What is the last luxury item you bought for yourself? Handbag and chocolates.

Looking back in history, who is the man or woman you most admire? When I was a young girl I met saintly Sikh Late Bhagat Puran Singh in Amritsar, Punjab, India, who founded the Pingalwara organisation and saw him serving neglected and socially-rejected terminally or disabled patients selflessly. He was also a writer as well as publisher and an environmentalist and was once awarded with the most prestigious awards in India.

What is the most important thing in your life today? My family, friends, serving community, doing something valuable and memorable in life towards suffering mankind.

What concerns you most about modern life and today’s society? Exploitation of natural resources, vulnerable people in society, female subjugation, unfair male domination, neglected older people and children, stigmas, increasing self-centred or political service in the name of faiths than for human kind.

What is your overall opinion of Huddersfield as a place to live? I love the topographic beauty, countryside, valleys and swirly streets, warm and peace loving community, people easily pass on smiles to strangers walking past in parks, especially older people.
