Jordan Thompson, 17, of Salendine Nook, was playing the game with friends in a court close to Royds Hall Sports Centre when he collapsed.

3) Former Holmfirth man charged with murdering wife at French chateau

A former Holmfirth man branded a “shyster” over a string of dodgy dealings has been charged with murdering his wife.

Robert Hall allegedly killed 49-year-old Joanne Hall, burned the body and buried the remains in the grounds of their French chateau.

Hall, 55, is charged with aggravated murder after claims he killed her in a drunken fight in Rennes, Brittany.

4) Huddersfield man who stabbed stranger hid knife up his bottom

A man concealed his four-inch knife in his backside after stabbing a stranger and then threatening police.

Simon Littleford, 46, launched an unprovoked attack on David Hirst at the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Slaithwaite on July 4, 2009.

He then brandished the lock-knife at police who went to speak to him two days later.

After being arrested the same day, Littleford was strip-searched and the knife discovered.

Teenagers filmed balancing on a railing 20ft above the busy ring road say they weren’t up to no good – it’s just the latest craze.
