2010 review: Huddersfield mother has cheek bitten off by dog while defending baby

A MOTHERhad her cheek bitten off trying to defend her baby from an attacking bull terrier. Waheed Akhtar, 26, of Thornton Lodge went into emergency plastic surgery and the dog was found and put down.

SEBASTIANMercante, husband of Claire, flew into the UK and knifed to death his mother-in-law Carol Berry, 66, at Bradley and wounded Claire’s brother Andrew Fields who was trying to defend her. Mercante then leapt to his death from the top of a multi-storey car park in Manchester.
