HERE are the most viewed stories on www.examiner.co.uk last week:

1) A WOMAN died after being hit by a car as she crossed a busy Huddersfield road. Kayleigh Sylvester, 24, suffered head injuries after she was struck near The Yorkshire Rose pub on Leeds Road. She was rushed to hospital but died early the next day.

2) WILL most Kirklees roads look like this? A reader alerted the Examiner to say it looked like road workers had simply put tarmac down the middle of a Milnsbridge street because parked cars were in the way. He was staggered to see how Lipscomb Street in the centre of Milnsbridge had been left.

3) A PICTURE gallery of some of the fun events happening in Huddersfield in aid of Comic Relief 2011.

4) A FORMER youth worker was angry that Kirklees Council sent her a letter encouraging her to leave – three months after making her redundant! Tanya Lyons, 36, was one of 15 staff forced out by the council at the end of last year as part of a major cost-cutting programme.
