What’s new on the web this week?

WOULDN’T you love to have superpowers?

One new iPhone app gives you powers, of sorts – it allows you to spy on people through solid walls, in a manner of speaking.

Well, that’s the unintended consequence. Color (spelled the American way, although you can find out more either at www.color.com or www.colour.com) is a new online service for sharing photos and it works in a very unusual way.

For starters, signing up for Color means you’re signing away your privacy. You can’t limit who sees the photos you share. Once they’re shared, they’re shared to anyone, everywhere.

The other unusual thing is that your photos are shared by location.

Everyone’s favourite non-Microsoft browser has been updated. Firefox 4 comes with a bunch of handy new features and a sleeker, simpler look.

The address bar has been renamed the Awesome Bar – just start typing and it will suggest searches, pages you’ve seen before, or bookmarks.

There’s also a sync feature that allows you to use the same bookmarks and settings on multiple computers.
