Sharon Collier, a slight 45-year-old mum of one, had tried to be a Good Samaritan after seeing women involved in a row in Milnsbridge.
But her reward was a vicious beating from a man who towered over her slight frame and left her with a shattered cheekbone and facial injuries.

DISGRUNTLED Town fans have vowed to boycott one of the season’s biggest ties because of ‘ridiculous’ ticket prices.
Huddersfield are set to play Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on September 13 in one of League I’s biggest derbies.
But fans believe there will be rows of empty seats in the away stand after Sheffield announced it would be charging £28.50 for adult tickets.
By comparison Bury fans will pay half that price (£14 plus a booking fee) to see their team play the Blades at Bramall Lane on September 3.

Nationally the pass rate rose for the 23rd year in a row with almost seven in 10 entries (69.8%) gaining at least a C grade.

Now car dealer Glynn Mosley believes he has been targeted by someone with a grudge.
Vandals have slashed tyres and smashed windows on cars belonging to Westwood Motors, New Mill Road, Honley, causing £12,000 damage.

DEADLY snakes were seized from a house in Kirklees.
Stunned police found 16 highly-venomous snakes in bedrooms at a terrace house in Liversedge – including nine puff adders and a cobra.
