THE row over the LDF homes building plans for Kirklees refuses to die down.

Now residents in Holme Valley North are concerned that 350 homes in their area – including 200 on green belt land – could end up merging the two villages of Honley and Brockholes together.

It used to be the case that Green Belt land was absolutely sacrosanct but these rules seem to be slipping more and more and that should concern everyone.

Perhaps before any more new homes are built, Kirklees Council should carry out a comprehensive and highly detailed survey to find out just how many homes are now empty in the borough and up for sale.
