TOWN and (the rest of the) country talking about our football team:

Realist: “Outstanding display against Preston, a team that fortunately came to play football and not pack out midfield. Ian Hulme was outstanding for them and I wasn’t sorry to see him go off. They also had Mellor out which I’m sure was a big miss. They certainly had chances with Ian Bennett making a terrific save – great agility. Enough has been said about Jordan Rhodes. We know what he can do and he rightly paid tribute to his team mates. The only downside for me was Gary Roberts’ delivery from corners. Also had a laugh at our half time comedian/announcer falling in the box (he is another star by the way).”

D Barnett from Blackpool: “Earlier in the season we debated consistency of selection and that now seems to have been resolved. LC seems to have set on a formation and team, and I genuinely think we are seeing the results. Keep the juggernaut rolling – that’s all we need to do.”

Kevin from Bognor: “Glad it appears to be coming together for us all, but can all the Clark fans please explain the following: 1) Why did Rhodes spend most of last season on the bench? 2) Why did it take the management team 12 months to get Lee fit enough to make a valuable contribution? 3) Why did it take almost two seasons and several loan signings for them to decide that we had the perfect partner already on our books (Antony Kay) for our established centre back?”

Sugy from Devon Terrier: “Who on earth are Leicester City? They are a club with gates of about 21,000 and in disarray and without a manager. Who are Huddersfield Town? They are a similar sized successful club who are on the up and would get gates of approximately 21,000-plus in the Championship. They have a manager who has the backing from his very wealthy fanatical chairman in Dean Hoyle – So what’s the attraction? Maybe, just maybe, this has been blown out of proportion by the media but I predict he will stay.”

Richard from Birstall: “If Leicester or a Premier League club came in for Clark I wouldn’t be delighted – the run of wins have now turned this season from a poor to a good start and I don’t want the continuity to be upset. However, I wouldn’t be devastated either. I don’t feel that Clark is irreplaceable. In fact, I think lots of managers could do a similar/better job (O’Driscoll is out of work and would be a fine replacement). I’d be much more upset if Rhodes or Hunt were sold in January than I ever would be by Clark leaving.”
