What a golden outing

MARSH Ladies' Choir has just returned from a three day trip to Gloucestershire as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations.

But the trip wasn't just about celebrating their milestone year, it was about sharing their musical skills.

The choir gave a concert at Dursley Parish Church as part of the Dursley Arts Festival proving that Friday night remains music night!

Paul Iredale conducted the singers and John S Bailey was the accompanist. Raymond Ellis, who sang solos and compered the concert, was made an honorary member of the choir during the weekend.

All the other soloists were choir members including Barbara Brook, Norma Hallett, Helen Clayton and the choir's secretary Jenny Cobb, who also organised the trip.

The choir then went on a tour of the area, visiting Gloucester, Cheltenham, Berkeley castle and Slimbridge Wildlife and Wetlands Centre.
