Footballer Steve Kindon once sat at a book signing in a Huddersfield store and his friend Ian Wimpenny stood in line and then placed in front of him a Tommy Cooper biography.

Kindo never looked up but his shoulders shook with laughter.

He knew it was Wimps playing a trick.

I’ll be sitting in the New Street branch of Waterstone’s tomorrow between 12 and two for a book signing of my own: my latest thriller.

Angel, written under the pseudonym Jon Grahame, is out. It’s the second part of a trilogy of near-future thrillers. The first, Reaper, has also been re-launched with a new cover.

All book lovers welcome.

But, please, no Tommy Cooper biographies.
