1. If you have a small garden, grow mini-cauliflowers 15cm (6in) apart for individual servings.

2. Break some of the outer leaves to shelter maturing heads and protect them from frost or sunshine.

3. Start cutting while heads are still small, as crops often mature simultaneously.
