IT’S the house with a tower and a fabulous view towards Holme Styes Reservoir high above Holmfirth – but owner Shona Bontoft is hoping to be Shropshire bound.

Work commitments mean that Shona, who works for a computer software company, needs to move South to cut down on her business travelling.

She said: "It’s been great here at Green Abbey, Hade Edge, but living a little further South will make my working life much easier yet still keep me within reasonable reach of family and friends.’’

Shona’s partner, Brian Jackson, also has a house, near Bridgnorth in Shropshire, which is now up for sale.

"Originally we thought about extending his house but after looking into it, the cost was just too great. So we will probably look for a new place around the same area.’’

Shona has lived in the house at Green Abbey since it was built in 1995 and says it is a great family home for her daughter Heather, 13, and young son Phoenix, aged 18 months.

"It really does have everything and is great for a growing family. Where else can you open your front door to such a fabulous view? I also love my office, which is at the top of the tower and offers spectacular panoramic views on all sides.’’

Walk into the house at Green Abbey and you’ll find an entrance hall, downstairs lavatory, lounge, dining room, conservatory, breakfast kitchen and utility room on the ground-floor.

On the first-floor the house has a spacious master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, along with three further bedrooms. The house bathroom has a contemporary feel with separate shower cubicle.

A staircase leads to a further room at the top of the tower with porthole windows on three sides offering far-reaching views. This is currently being used as Shona’s office but is flexible space and could be a fifth bedroom or a children’s den.

Outside there is a small front-garden, driveway and integral double garage with remote controlled door. To the rear there are well established landscaped gardens with lawns, a raised decking area, bark covered play area and patio.

Shona said: "I’ve absolutely loved living here and will be sad to leave but relocating will make life much easier. I used to have two big dogs and found some great walks in the countryside round here but we are also reasonably close to local amenities and within easy reach of the centre of Holmfirth.’’

Green Abbey is well situated on a small cul-de-sac in the Holme Valley.

The house is being marketed by Reeds Rains, Holmfirth office.

PRICE: £330,000.
