Two Canadian musicians with a love of 1960’s Britpop invented a parody band called The Cocksure Lads.

They wrote songs and released two albums. Now the concept has been turned into a film starring local actor and singer Adam McNab.

Huddersfield musician Sid Szydelco, composer, electric guitar tutor and song producer, who has himself written scores for television and films, was speaking to Adam recently. The two have previously collaborated in song writing.

The film – called The Cocksure Lads – recently premiered at the Whistler Film Festival in Canada.

“The Cocksure Lads arrive in Toronto for their first ever North American tour and break up 10 minutes later,” says the publicity.

The film follows their hectic next 24 hours before their first gig. It’s a sort of modern Hard Day’s Night.

Adam plays one of the four-man band from the North of England whose singer is former Emmerdale actor Lyndon Ogbourne. He played Nathan Wylde.

Adam has a busy year with promotional work, another film and a six months tour of Japan singing on his own behalf. Watch the trailer for the film at www.thecocksureladsmovie.com/trailer.
