LET the town see the Lothario!

Meet personal trainer Ben Bamforth who proved a big hit with the ladies on ITV’s Take Me Out.

When the Meltham man descended down the love lift on Saturday night, 30 impressed women all kept their lights on – making him the most popular of the night’s contestants.

Having now returned from his romantic getaway in ‘Fernando’s’, he said: “It was an amazing experience.

“I was absolutely dreading it before I came down the lift especially as the production staff were making quite a big deal that I was the first man in the new series.

“But it was just great seeing 30 beautiful girls in front of you smiling away and getting to go on dates with one of them.”

“I chose Joanna and we headed off to the Island of Fernando’s – which is actually Cyprus.

“It was a great laugh, the other lads from the show are there at the same time too.

“I did try with Joanna, but I knew I had made the wrong decision the minute I walked off the stage.

“So I contacted the show about another girl – let’s just say it is somebody that I got very, very close to going on a date with.

“I left my number for her and now we are dating.

“My mum Lucy was in the audience and couldn’t understand why I didn’t choose this girl to begin with as she is just my type.”

Ben, 21, couldn’t tell us who the girl was as all will be revealed when he reappears on next Saturday’s show.

He continued: “My mum did appear on the show too in my video tape.

“We are like best friends and are very close, so I need her to be on board.

“She decides who I go out with, so the girl is under quite a bit of pressure.

Matchmaker Paddy McGuinness is now playing cupid in the third series of the dating show – where he tries to help 30 single girls find love.

The girls all have three chances to turn their lights off to indicate they are not interested in the man – “no likey, no lighty”.

Any women left at the end of the three rounds are then selected by the hopeful man.

Should somebody not get any lights remaining, they leave the stage to the tune of Celine Dion’s All By Myself.

But fortunately for the Saddleworth Health Club trainer, he was left with eight women to chose from.

Ben, whose family used to own Bam bar in the town centre and currently run iTan in Meltham, said that his modelling agency put him in touch with the show.

They suggested he attempt the difficult upside down sit-ups for his talent and even put him in the Australian-inspired outfit to commemorate his family’s Australian-inspired farm in Meltham.

To see Ben on TV again, tune in on Saturday to Take Me Out on ITV1, 7.30pm and Take Me Out The Gossip on ITV2.
