THIS week we bring you a fascinating glimpse into what was happening in local amateur sport 24 years ago.

Football, squash, cricket, darts, table tennis, tae kwon-do and golf are all featured.

Meltham Golf Club’s junior section are pictured here taking a break from practice.

The club had a growing band of young players, aged from six to 14, who were well entrenched in the Huddersfield and District Union. Behind the section was Honley High School teacher Richard Sykes.
