CARLA NELSON was just one of the pupils of Bradley CE Junior School who made a visit to the Huddersfield Community and Heritage Farm in March 1991.

And the seven-year-old soon made friends with this young lamb.

Pupils from the school met animals of all shapes and sizes when they visited the now-closed farm, which was not at a traditional local farm, but had been set up as a special educational animal enclosure at Peace Pit Lane, off Leeds Road.

Three classes from the school were visiting that month as part of a topic on animals and we feature more pictures inside this edition.

Also going on in March 1991 was the Comic Relief TV charity event which saw Hale and Pace’s The Stonk rise to number one in the UK hit singles chart.
