Wilf Lunn's singing snowballs in 1990!

Singing snowballs on a Christmas tree bound for Reykjavik, Iceland, were the latest wacky creation of Huddersfield inventor Wilf Lunn.

The Kirkburton creator is pictured with the snow-covered tree which he has been commissioned to make by the Seltzer company in Reykjavik which sells glacia water in see-through cans in health food shops.

Wilf's 6ft tall invention is topped by a skating snowman and the snowballs automatically open and close their mouths when Jingle Bells is sung nearby.

It also features a water-filled trunk from which people can fill up cans at the base of the tree.

The company met Wilf earlier this year and decided one of his trees would make an ideal marketing ploy.
