Taking a close interest as a JCB digger moves in to create a pond at St Aiden's First School, Skelmanthorpe, are these youngsters.

The pond was being entered in the Pride of Huddersfield competition to encourage schools to improve their environment.

Teacher Tim Brown said money for the project had come from the Nature Conservancy Council, Yorkshire Water and from the school itself.
