Five-year-old twins Simeon and Peter Yianni braved the cold to help complete a line of pennies stretching around their school playground back in November 1989.
All 256 pupils of Reinwood Infant and Nursery School, Huddersfield, collected their spare coppers for a month to make the chain of pennies in aid of the BBC Children in Need appeal.
The school had received £1,000 from the appeal the previous year and headteacher Mrs June Skillen said this was a way of saying thank you.
