THE new film Magpie by independent director Marc Price has received its first screening at the British Film Institute.

It features the orchestral music of Huddersfield guitarist and composer Sid Szydelko and songs written by Huddersfield’s Adam McNab which are performed by his band Le Cassette.

Price’s first film was a zombie movie called Colin which he made for £45 and which gained national distribution after being screened at the Cannes Film Festival and was a winner at the Raindance Film Festival in London.

Magpie is another off-beat short film about an estranged father who gatecrashers his young son’s funeral and steals the coffin (I said it was off-beat). It stars well known TV actors Daisy Aitkens and Craig Russell.
