THIS week we continue our look at young people’s activities in the weeks before Christmas 21 years ago in December 1991 – in the news, it was a month most notable for the dissolution of the Soviet Union after Ukrainians voted for independence.

International politics were unlikely to have been on the minds of the audience of Rosemeade School’s annual pantomime though.

Eleven-year-old Kate Daubney as Snow White is pictured with members of the chorus of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The show was written and produced by Mrs Helen Hebblethwaite and Mrs Catherine Howson and 32 children took part in two Friday performances.

It was held in Almondbury Methodist Church Hall for parents and relatives.
