THIS view could not be anywhere but Yorkshire.

The cobbled lane, the dark brooding walls with lichen covering their sides signalling a shady spot with perhaps plenty of rainfall.

If you live in Marsden, you’ll perhaps recognise the conditions but maybe not initially this view of St Bartholomew’s Church.

Nick Lawton, giving that bit extra to get just the picture he wanted, actually lay down on the bridge over the River Colne to get this stunning image.

Nick, who lives in Slaithwaite, has produced an image which captures perfectly the beautiful features of the Colne Valley but encouraging us all to look again at places with which we might think we are totally familiar.

We always need submissions for Picture Of The Week. So if you have a fresh take on a much-loved place, send it to us at features@examiner.co.uk
