Picture of the Week: Magdale waterfall in all it's glory

ALL is calm and relaxing in a walk by the stream.

ALL is calm and relaxing in a walk by the stream.

This small weir is just one of the sights on circular walks from Beaumont Park.

It's in a stream in Magdale Fields close to Magdale Woods in Honley and was taken by Mary Kenworthy who is treasurer for the Friends of Beaumont Park.

The Beaumont Park Wednesday Walkers meet weekly to do a maximum five-mile walk from the park. They meet at 10.30am at the park's main gate and anyone is welcome to join them.

On the second Wednesday of the month they go further afield. In June it will be to Brockholes and New Mill, in July to Holmbridge and in August to Dovestones Reservoir near Greenfield.

On Sunday there will be a Jubilee Proms and Picnic in the park from 2pm to 4.30pm featuring Lindley Band and St Barnabas Choir at the bandstand. People should park in Moor End Academy Car Park on nearby Dryclough Road and bring their own picnics.
