CYCLE rides can lead to some spectacular photographs in the Examiner.

Chris Charlesworth managed to get this panoramic shot from Grange Moor looking towards Castle Hill and the snow-topped moors beyond on his iPhone.

Chris, of Skelmanthorpe, always has his phone with him to capture those unique moments as he spots them.

Chris, who is chief technician for 3D product design at Huddersfield University, has been a photographer for 32 years. He specialises in landscapes and usually uses professional Nikon cameras so is delighted with the quality of this photograph.

“It just goes to show that the best camera is the one you have with you at the time,’’ he said. “I have a road bike so it’s easy to slip the phone into my pocket.’’

Chris normally cycles around 100 miles a week and this photograph was taken from Paul Lane close to the Cinnamon Lounge restaurant.

We always need submissions for Picture Of The Week.

If your eye has been caught by a sunny face, a community event or a beautiful building, then send in those images too.

We are always keen to celebrate the town’s achievements, its spirit and its people.

So please get out the camera and share your view of what makes Huddersfield so special.

Send entries to features@examiner.co.uk or you can drop them in the post to Picture of the Week, Features, Huddersfield Daily Examiner, Pennine Business Park, Longbow Close, Bradley Road, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD2 1GQ.
